1st Place for Grade 5 at Smokey Mountain & Middle Tennessee

This year the Alabama Pipes and Drums combined with members from the Chattanooga Pipes and Drums to form a Grade 5 competition band as neither had the numbers to put a band on the field. We worked on our set in separate locations, coming together on occasion to play as a unit.

Our first competitive event was at the Loch Norman Scottish Festival where we came in 5th place. May20th was the groups 2nd competition where we went up against 4 other bands. We had a good run and better than expected as we came in 1st place for the day. On June 10th we competed in Blairsville, GA where we place 2nd out of 3 bands. The summer was an off period, until we completed at the Middle Tennessee Highland Games taking 1st place again out of 6 bands competing. Our last event was on October 21st where we went up against 14 bands, some coming as far away as Texas and Arizona. We ended up in 8th place on the day against some very tough bands.

You can check out the video recordings in our media section for Smokey Mountain and Middle Tennessee.
